Watch the latest terrifying trailer for “Slender Man”

Published

on

Turns out we didn’t leave Slender Man, the surprisingly popular fictional horror character invented on the Something Awful forums, back in 2014 where he belongs. The second trailer for the official Sony Slender Man movie, which will hit theaters Aug. 10, has dropped.

The trailer reveals the movie’s backstory, which revolves around four high school girls stumbling across and becoming increasingly obsessed with the legend of Slender Man. One goes missing, the rest are determined to find out why, and their search leads them right to Slender Man. The movie comes from the mind of The Losers director Sylvain White and stars Javier Botet as the titular character. Horror fans will can rest assured that Botet’s creepiness factor was more than certified by his role as the leper in It.

The entire thing might seem like typical internet lore, just wild enough to get the imagination going but too fantastical for anyone to truly believe in. However, there’s at least one case that proves just how terrifying the Slender Man’s influence really is. In 2014, two 12-year-old Wisconsin girls repeatedly stabbed a classmate in the woods in an attempt to prove the Slender Man was real. The two young girls believed this was how they had to appease the Slender Man or he would kill their families. Their stories were expounded on in the HBO documentary Beware the Slenderman.

The father of one of the girls who attacked their classmate, Bill Weier, strongly disapproves of the upcoming movie and spoke out against it earlier this year, soon after the first trailer was released. He called the film in “extreme poor taste” and called for theaters to refrain from showing it.

“It’s absurd they want to make a movie like this,” Weier said, according to ComicBook.com. “It’s popularizing a tragedy is what it’s doing. I’m not surprised but in my opinion it’s extremely distasteful. All we’re doing is extending the pain all three of these families have gone through.”

Slender Man was originally slated to hit theaters in May, but was moved back to Aug. 10.

Here’s Why Ariana Grande Is Dating Pete Davidson

Published

Ariana Grande broke up with Mac Miller earlier this month for reasons. Don’t know what those are. Pete Davidson broke up with Larry David’s daughter last week. When asked if he would okay after the breakup, he replied, “yeah, probably.” That appears to be true.

Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson are seeing each other, PEOPLE confirms. A source tells PEOPLE that Grande and Davidson’s relationship “just started,” adding that “it’s very casual.” A second source also confirms the news, which was first reported by Bossip. Reps for Grande and Davidson did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.

I Googled Larry David’s daughter and this seems like an upgrade for old Pete. She kinda looks like a Dollar Tree Krysten Ritter. I also learned that Ariana Grande definitely has a type.

Video: Somebody Threw A Drink At Tomi Lahren And Posted It On Twitter

Even though Tomi Lahren is politically insane for ratings, she’s still a white lady, so she went to brunch in Minneapolis. Brave Resistance fighters, also at brunch, threw a drink at her.

Lahren, 25, explained that she was at brunch with her parents when a group of patrons she assumed to be around her age threw water at her and “chanted profanities.” She called the incident “embarrassing.” “I think that those that threw the water and were applauding and laughing about it wanted to get their 15 minutes of fame by making video of me. I think looking back, those are the people that are going to be embarrassed by their actions. I think their parents raised them better,” Lahren said.

Twitter is now being mean to Tomi Lahren and saying she deserved it or whatever. She should join MS-13 so they’ll be nicer to her.

People Used World Cup Trophies To Smuggle Drugs

Published

Excitement over the 2018 World Cup has struck just about every country in the world. However, it appears as if some in Argentina were a little too excited over the world’s most popular sport. That includes the so-called “Narcos de la Copa” organization, who didn’t do the best job hiding their finely crafted product.

Argentinian authorities reportedly seized 10 kilograms of cocaine from the “Narcos de la Copa” — along with 20 kg of marijuana — $15,000 in cash and 1800 doses of crack cocaine known as “Paco.” The fun part is that all of this was stuffed inside replica World Cup championship trophies.

Buenos Aires Security Minister Cristian Ritondo tweeted photos of the fake souvenirs that were used to smuggle the drugs while announcing the arrest of two women and four men who are believed to be the mules attempting to cross into Argentina.

“These merchants of death have endless ingenuity, but don’t be fooled. They shouldn’t be admired. On the contrary… they are now in jail,” said minister Ritondo, in a statement.

This marks the second time in a matter of days that fake World Cup souvenirs were used to hide drugs. On Tuesday, Colombian police seized 14 fake World Cup jerseys that were drenched in a substance that turns into cocaine when treated. The jerseys, which were laced with about five kilos of cocaine in total, were reported en route to Spain.
